how it works
I have never liked posing for pictures; being behind the lens is much easier. Pets don’t seem to enjoy posing either, playing is so much more fun for them. To capture your pet and not just a pose, I take candid photographs in a familiar environment using natural light as much as possible.
It is important that your pet is relaxed and comfortable with both the camera and with me, so the first few minutes of the session will be “getting to know each other time.” Plenty of affection and treats pave the way for your pet to be ready for their “pet star” moment. We will also discuss what you are looking for from our session and any preferences for shots you might have.
You choose the location – it can be anywhere you and your pet love to be: your living room, back yard, perhaps a local park or beach. We are very fortunate because we live in a truly amazing area filled with natural beauty and amazing architecture. Whether it is a dog park, the ocean, a local pier, or an interesting alleyway, the backgrounds available to us here make for amazing on-location shots. What is most important is that it’s a familiar location you are all comfortable in. One that offers ample choices for natural light makes my job easier, but we can work around the setting to some extent.
After our session the post-processing and editing work starts and I will load your proofs to a private on-line gallery for you to review for 30-days. After you have had an opportunity to show-off your portraits to friends and family (you can share the proofing gallery link with them), we can discuss what products most appeal to you. Then shortly thereafter you’ll be showing off your furry family member with a unique portrait.
